Hello,
I have always wondered about all these jeweled headvases popping up on ebay. It looks like somebody took a perfectly gorgeous headvase and cheapened it with a glue gun and tacky dime store rhinestones. In fact, I have seen head vases EXACTLY like some that I have - BUT decked out in 25 cent stones sell for big money on ebay. I can't help but think the buyers are being duped. As a collector of head vases for more than 10 years I really hate to see newbie collectors getting ripped off. I say they are NOT original, my sister says they are, $10 rides on your expert answer.

Thank you

Collector's either love or hate these jeweled heads. Some heads have been covered in these jewels to cover existing cracks, or flaws in the original head. However, sometimes there is nothing wrong with the head, but someone covered them in jewels anyway. Some have brought very high prices at auction. Whether you like them or hate them is up to you. Just remember, that none were originally made that way, someone always added them later.

It has been brought to my attention that there is some confusion regarding the JEWELED HEADS appearing on ebay lately. Let me say first, that NONE of these heads are original, not even the one in my book. That head was decorated with stones, pearls and beads by an individual and used as a display in a boutique. The heads you are seeing now have been decorated by an individual and I am amazed at the prices they bring!!

I think it is terrible to dupe people into thinking the jeweled headvases are original. If they sell them, they should state in the description that the jewels have been added to an old headvase.
