Have you ever been confused when you looked at two head vases that almost look a like? They are identical twins, but then realized that they came from different factories? Don't be! In the past year, we got few dozen of emails asking us the same question. There were quite a few designs that were look almost identical. In my opinion, manufacturers were imitating each other's head vases. I don't think that it was coincidented that they were look almost alike. The real question is which head vases came first? There are no exisitng records of their birth dates so I guess this will continue to be a mystery among head vase collectors. Here are some sample of head vases that were seperated at birth that I was be able to get a hold of.

RELPO vs INARCO

The lady on the left is marked "RELPO 2105" at the bottom of the piece. The one on the right has "INARCO, Japan" sticker on her. Also, you can tell them apart because INARCO uses a bisque finish.

PARMA vs UNITED IMPORT

The lady on the left is marked "PARMA A-173" at the bottom of the piece. The one on the right has "United Imort, Japan" sticker on her. Also, you can tell them apart because the Parma head vase has permanent black imprint of "A-173" on her and she always has solid color dress (mainly blue or green) on her.
